Ministries

Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart.

2 Corinthians 4:1

Faith Over Fear

Our “Faith Over Fear” Ministry is an opportunity for the body of Christ to seek the Lord’s comfort, guidance, strength, and wisdom.

Jesus proclaimed that, “My house shall be called a house of prayer.” (Matthew 21:13)

Prayer is essential for the successful Christian life. It is simply communication and fellowship with God. When we pray, we can know He hears us.

Scripture encourages us to rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and in everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

We understand that life brings with it many trials, challenges, and temptations. Jesus warned that, “In the world you will have tribulation.” But He went on to say, “but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

To get through those difficult times and problems, we believe that “Prayer Changes Things” James 5:16.
We are a church that is committed to prayer in these ways:

Our leadership team is devoted to daily prayer for the needs of the church body.

We meet weekly to pray before church each Sunday at 9:30 am.  All are invited to join.

The prayer ministry, “Faith over Fear” meets weekly on Thursdays at 10 am. All are invited to join in for a time of Devotion and Prayer.

We are committed to pray for our nation, the church, leaders, for missionaries, and for persecuted believers throughout the world.
We want to pray for you too.

Our prayer team is available after Sunday service to pray for you.

To submit a prayer request, simply fill out a “Prayer Request Card” located at the Resource Tables and drop it off in one of the tithe boxes located in the Sanctuary or in the Common Grounds Cafe.

PRAYER CHANGES THINGS!

Men of Valor

Once a month, our "Men of Valor" come together at a 9am “Rally Point”  for breakfast in the cafe at Calvary Chapel Tri-Cities TN.

As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. Proverbs 27:17

This is a time for food, fellowship, and to help teach our men how to be the Spiritual leaders that God has called them to be. A time to help men become disciples of Jesus Christ and to lead them to join God in His kingdom work.
Our Ministry is actively pursuing men in order to connect them to God, His Word, and other men for the purpose of winning, growing and training God’s man in Christ.

Our goal is to lead men to be better husbands, fathers and friends in a world that has a distorted view at what a “Real Man” is.

We are currently working through the book of James in the New Testament.

Women's Ministry (Grow in Grace)

Peter concludes his letter as he began it (2 Peter 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord), by urging his readers to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to get to know Him better and better. This is the most important step in refuting false teachers. No matter where we are in our spiritual journey, no matter how mature we are in our faith, the sinful world always will challenge our faith. We still have much room for growth. If every day we find some way to draw closer to Christ, we will be prepared to stand for truth in any and all circumstances.

Our vision for women’s ministry is that all women will know Jesus, and grow in the grace and knowledge of Him. May all of us be a reflection of God’s love and mercy:

The heart and vision for “Grow in Grace” is to reach women with the love of Jesus Christ and see them grow deeper in their relationship with the Lord. Our desire is also to teach and mentor women how to fulfill our roles in the home, church, workplace and the world according to God’s Word.

We want to provide women with opportunities to grow in their relationship with God.

Growing in knowledge – a time where we meet to expound on what God has taught us in His Word through Women’s Bible studies, our own personal Bible reading and fellowship.
Growing in discipleship – helping women in their faith following the Titus 2 standard in mentoring.
Growing by being involved – Helping each other find their place of service. Identifying and stirring up the gifts and being good stewards of those gifts from God.
Growing in engaging the next generation – making a difference and being involved in the lives of the young girls.
Growing in fellowship – a time to meet for lunch or dinner or just hang out as sisters in the fellowship… Ladies Night out!
Growing through mentorship.
Growing in support - in the work of ministries in our church.  A time where we minister to someone in the fellowship or in the community who is widowed, sick, or home bound and connect with other services in the community to be a blessing and serve!
Conferences and Retreats – Throughout the year, CCTC attends local and regional Calvary Chapel Women’s retreats and day conferences to aide in strengthening the faith of our ladies.
MONTHLY BIBLE STUDIES

2nd Saturday of the month

The Word of God is the foundation of everything that we do in Growing in Grace Women’s Ministries. We would like to invite you to join us monthly, to discover the truths of the Bible and how they relate to our daily lives, so that as women we can live fulfilling and abundant lives.

BIBLICAL GUIDANCE

Difficult times come upon all of us, from time to time, and through Biblical Guidance we help women find strength through the power of God’s Word as it applies to our lives.

SISTER TO SISTER

For those who would like the accountability, fellowship, and personal growth that one on one mentoring brings, we offer the personalized ministry of Sister to Sister Mentoring to those who attend Calvary Chapel.

We need Jesus and we are seeking to grow in a deeper relationship with God.

Let us be women who Love Jesus and God’s Word, who want God’s grace showering down upon us continuously and who love each other and want to help each other grow to become more like Jesus Christ.

Worship Team

At Calvary Chapel Tri-Cities TN, we believe praise and worship are an active, dynamic, integral link between God and His people. This ministry seeks to serve Him humbly in a spirit of excellence in spirit and truth through music to lead others into His presence so that we glorify God as one body with one voice through one spirit.

Opportunities to be part of this ministry are available for those gifted with musical ability who have the desire to serve.

Ushers and Greeters

This ministry’s goal is to serve the Lord by serving the congregation as ushers and greeters. It is their responsibility to help keep the service running smoothly. They are the first line of contact welcoming all who enter the doors of our church with the Love of Christ.

The Greeters can answer questions regarding Children’s classes and ongoing church activities, while Ushers assist people to find open seating and provide assistance where needed.
These men and women have a heart dedicated to offer assistance, guidance and spirituality in the house of God.

In serving the Lord, they strive to be sensitive to the needs of others while maintaining and providing a safe, functioning environment for worship. They also assist during communion.

Media Ministry

The Media Ministry encompasses both the audio and visual aspect of our service.  From media presentation to worship and everything in between, we want to make sure that what you see and hear at Calvary Chapel Tri-Cities TN is a reflection of God’s greatness and His glory.

Calvary Kids

What is Calvary Chapel's View on Children?

We believe that children are a gift from God, valuable and made in His image.  We believe that God loves them, that He wants a relationship with them, and that they are never too young to begin that relationship.  We also believe that God has a purpose for each individual child’s life, and that it is in a relationship with Him that they begin to discover that purpose.

Jesus holds children very close to His heart, and we at Calvary Chapel want to do so as well. With God’s Word as our highest priority, we have designed the Children’s Ministry in such a way that kids can learn at their own level and pace.

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

What is Calvary Chapel's Goal in Ministering to Children?

It is our desire to partner with parents to raise up children who have a solid foundation of faith in Jesus Christ.

We believe that the primary responsibility for discipling children is in the hands of parents. Although we have your children for a short period of time in the classroom, parents have them all week long.  How children see their caregivers live out their faith often speaks much louder than Sunday bible stories. Kids need to know that God is real and that He loves them, and one way they do is when their parents live for Him.

With that in mind our first goal as we minister to children is to equip their parents or guardians by giving them a free and undistracted time to be taught and grow in their relationship with Jesus. As parents grow in their walk with Jesus, they will continue to minister to the child long after the child has left church service.
Our second goal is to fully take advantage of the time we have with your children, and minister directly to them. We seek to communicate God’s love to the children at their level of understanding. We feel that the best way to accomplish this is to provide teaching and activities that are age appropriate and enjoyable. Because we believe the Bible is essential to spiritual development, our lessons come directly from the teaching of Scripture. As you grow in the Lord, so will your children.

And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”  Deuteronomy 6:6-9

We Are Second

Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” — Philippians 4:2-3

At Calvary Chapel Tri-Cities we are intentional about teaching our students to live a life dedicated to Christ. We are also intentional about real-world issues. While the church and the world are in a battle for the hearts and minds of our young people, we understand that the only way to win is by the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ, by putting others first, by becoming 2nd in the way we live our lives and the way we serve each other as we serve our King.

Open to students in middle and high school, our youth group offers a place for kids to make friends, learn, and have fun, all while growing in their relationship with God.

We meet weekly during the Wednesday evening service.

Tri-Cities Area COPS for Christ

Calling all Cars . . .

We meet each month on the third Thursday at 7 pm.

The ministry of the Tri-Cities area COPS for CHRIST is a chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers (FCPO). It is open to all Officers from all areas of the Law Enforcement Community, both retired and active. This is a ministry for Officers by Officers.
We have joined together to:

- To provide support and accountability to Christian Officers in various departments;
- To share the Gospel and love of Jesus Christ with the Law Enforcement Community;
- To become more effective witnesses for Christ to those around us;
- To learn how to disciple and train others to be better witnesses for Jesus Christ.

There is a strong common bond shared by those in law enforcement, especially those who are believers. We enjoy a camaraderie which cannot be imitated by anyone outside our distinctive occupation.

Because of this special rapport, we are often provided with opportunities to share our faith with colleagues considered “hard to reach” by others in the Christian community. Through COPS for CHRIST we are further “banded together” to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with our peers and fellow workers. Through the discipleship process, Officers teach others how to integrate Christ and Christian principles into their work, daily life and relationships.

Our God has given those of us in Law Enforcement a tremendous responsibility, but God also makes available to us a way that allows us to perform our duties without falling victim to the evil that we encounter. True Officer Survival involves having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, studying God’s word daily, praying without ceasing, and fellowshipping with other believers.
In the law enforcement profession we deal with forms of sin that most of society will never see, come in contact with, or need to face. We understand that this can discourage and harden our hearts to the point that we stop caring for others, especially those who are closest to us, our family, friends and loved ones.

Trying to deal with the negative side of the law enforcement experience in our own strength can lead to anger, isolation, frustration, confusion, resentment and even hatred. These problems manifest themselves in personnel complaints, marital problems, unhealthy relationships, substance abuse, and even suicide.

We believe that law enforcement work is a calling from God and that God speaks about the law enforcement officer in the Bible. . . “Let every person be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.” (Romans 13:1)

Our meetings are a place where officers can come together in order to be encouraged, enriched and motivated to keep their eyes focused on Jesus Christ; a place where officers can be taught how to perform their duties in a manner consistent with the teachings of the Bible . . . a place where they can obtain that affirming love that is so needed in the Body of Christ, especially in the Law Enforcement community.

It is open to the Law Enforcement community, all First Responders, andMilitary, active or retired.

Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our SHIELD.” (Psalm 33:20)

Calvary Chapel Bookstore

For the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” Ephesians 4:12

The Calvary Bookstore is operated as an outreach ministry, not a retail store. We carry books that will help broaden the scope of your Christian reading and that are theologically in line with the Calvary Chapel philosophy. You can find in our bookstore: Bibles, Christian living books and books by Calvary Chapel authors.

All prices listed are suggested donations.

Bookstore Hours: Before and after each service.
The Calvary Bookstore is located in the fellowship hall.

Common Grounds Café

Mission Statement:
How good it is when God’s people live together in unity.” (Psalm 133:1).

To bring people together and create fellowship among church goers in an atmosphere that provides a welcoming and hospitable place to gather. “We love to see people connect at the café!”

Ministry Goals:
Create opportunities for great first impressions to our visitors. A warm cup of coffee and snack is inviting.

The café is where people can gather to talk and to listen. It’s a place for sharing thoughts and ideas, where friendships can happen. It’s a picture of the Kingdom of God as people are brought from isolation into a community.
The café offers a safe place where each person is valued and respected. It’s the place where we can get to know each other and to demonstrate the gospel to them before we even talk about it. It’s the place where long-term relationships can be formed. It’s here in the Café that we can help add to the Kingdom of God.

Areas of Service:
Before and after Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services.

Serving in the Common Ground Café will give you an opportunity to form relationships by demonstrating the goodness of God.
